E. coli findings knock on recalls
Germany: Alnavit has recalled „Grashüpfer“ and „Pflanzenfreund“ due to potential E. coli contamination.
Alnavit Smoothiepulver „Grashüpfer“, 120g; with date 22.4.2017 and Alnavit Smoothiepulver „Pflanzenfreund“, 105g; 26.4.2017 are affected.
E. coli was found in Bio-Gerstengraspulver (organic barley grass powder) and the firm said since it is in Alnavit Smoothiepulver it has taken action to withdraw the product.
Raab Vitalfood has also been affected. The firm said its German supplier of organic barley grass powder reported findings of E. coli (VTEC) in products.
The firm said it had products delivered from August to mid-December 2015 and received no reports of discomfort or pain.
Joy.foods said it was involved as the supplier could not exclude it had passed on the affected product.
Hanoju initially recalled wheatgrass tablets and since it received barley grass tablets from the same supplier it expanded the notice.
