Food safety recall round-up 2-8 June 2017
E. coli O121 in flour
Canada: Rogers Foods is recalling Rogers brand All Purpose flour due to possible E. coli O121 contamination.
The 10kg product with code MFD 17 JAN 19 C was sold from Costco warehouses in British Columbia.
It was triggered by the CFIA during its investigation into a foodborne illness outbreak.
The British Columbia Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) said six people were infected with the same strain of E. coli O121 between February and April.
While it is occurring at the same time as a national outbreak involving a different strain of E. coli O121 linked to various flour products it is unclear whether there is a link.
