Get involved! FoodNavigator to host twitter chat with creator of lab grown meat

Professor Mark Post - the man behind the lab grown meat project - will be joining us for a live twitter Q&A on Wednesday 23rd July.

FoodNavigator will host an interactive twitter chat with the man behind the €250,000 lab grown burger, Professor Mark Post, next Wednesday 23rd July. What would you like to ask?

Last year Professor Mark Post sparked international interest with the unveiling, and tasting, of the world's first lab-grown meat. The €250,000 proof-of-principle burger was cooked and tasted in front of an invite-only audience in August 2013 (click here to see our coverage live from the event).

Since the grand unveiling of the 'cultured beef' burger, Post and his team at Maastricht University in the Netherlands have been back in the lab working to iron out technical issues so that commercially available lab-grown meat can become a reality.

Twitter chat: You ask the questions

The hour long twitter chat will be hosted and moderated by FoodNavigator editor Nathan Gray (@nathanrgray), who will be taking over the @FoodNavigator twitter account to interview the in vitro meat expert (@CulturedBeef) on the commercial viability and economics of lab grown meat in the future.

Join us us at 1pm GMT on Wednesday 23rd July to take part.

This is your chance to get involved in the conversation, and pose questions to Professor Post on the commercial viability and industrial realities of lab grown meat.

Please feel free to leave your questions in the comments section below, or to tweet them to us using the hashtag #AskProfPost.

Working in partnership with Food Matters Live (@FoodMattersLive), where Professor Post will be speaking, the FoodNavigator team will select a list of core questions that will form a basic chat framework, leaving ample opportunity for you to ask Professor Post further questions related to these core questions in person on the day.

To submit a question to us beforehand, simply leave a comment below, or tweet @FoodNavigator using the #AskProfPost hashtag.
