Good Grain Bakery, a UK organic artisan bakery specialising in gluten-free vegan bread, has been listed by online supermarket Ocado and with organic delivery company Abel & Cole.

Good Grain Bakery’s breads do not include hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (HMPC E464), glycerin and emulsifiers and are only made from certified organic ingredients.

Ocado will list a number of Good Grain Bakery products on its site, including the organic, gluten-free, vegan brown and seeded 500 g loaves as well as 70 g packs of crostini in lightly salted and beetroot & thyme flavours.

Abel & Cole will also distribute a wide range of the baker’s products, including the 500 g loaves in brown, seeded and caraway flavors and caraway & molasses, beetroot & thyme and lightly salted crostini packs.

According to founder Tara Taylor, Good Grain has worked hard since its launch in 2015 to produce a range of premium baked goods that are suitable for people with vegan and gluten-free dietary restrictions and still taste great.

“We have endeavored to perfect our recipes and these new partnerships will allow us to get our products out to even more people,” she told this site.

The bakery only uses certified organic ingredients for its products, such as tapioca flour, brown rice, potato starch, maize meal, quinoa flour, sunflower oil, psyllium husk, linseed, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, yeast, carob, sea salt, xanthan gum (natural thickener) and natural flavorings like beetroot powder and thyme, among others.

Good Grain began as a small west London bakery when Taylor set out to make allergy-sensitive breads that were free from hard to pronounce additives and preservatives.

Today, its artisan breads can found in stores across the UK, including Selfridges, Fortnum & Mason, Melrose & Morgan, Daylesford Organic, Earth Natural Foods and The Mae Deli as well as at London’s five-star Beaumont Hotel.

Béatrice Husté, grocery buyer at Abel & Cole, said people with dietary requirements should not be restricted when it comes to bread and “that’s why we’re committed to offering our customers even more variety across our vegetarian, vegan and free-from ranges.

“The Good Grain Bakery range are a welcome addition to our bread and free-from ranges,” she said.

Good Grain Bakery has been nominated as a finalist in the Free-from Bakery Product of the Year category at the Bakery Industry Awards 2017, to be held in London on September 6.
